About Me

I grew up in Newburyport, Massachusetts, where I attended public school. I began attending California Institute of Technology in 2009, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physics in 2013. In the fall of 2013, I began a PhD program in the Department of Astronomy at The Ohio State University, and I obtained my PhD in July 2019. I then moved to Space Telescope Science Institute as a postdoctoral researcher working on the FOGGIE team. In 2023, I was awarded the NASA Hubble Fellowship and the Institute for Theory and Computation Fellowship at the Harvard Center for Astrophysics, so I brought my Hubble Fellowship to the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory to continue and expand my work on FOGGIE.

My non-astronomy interests include hiking, camping, skiing, traveling, building computers, playing video games, crocheting, and occasionally playing piano.

I also enjoy doing astronomy outreach. I greatly enjoy the challenge of explaining complex physical concepts to a general audience.
